Russian forces have attacked the Khmelnytsky region, resulting in fatalities

On the morning of January 8, Russian occupiers attacked the Khmelnytsky region, resulting in deaths and damage to residential buildings.

This was reported on Hromadske Radio by a correspondent from the Khmelnytsky region, Tetyana Syvokon.

According to her, there were at least 6 explosions in Khmelnytsky region. Two critical infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Shepetivka district of Khmelnytskyi.

«There was a fire in Khmelnytskyi, it was actively extinguished. Emergency services are still working. A person died at the scene. Rescuers are carrying out rescue operations. There is information that there are people under the rubble», — the correspondent said.

She also added that as a result of the attack in Khmelnytsky, traffic on several streets in the city was blocked, and about 10 public transport routes were changed. In addition, about 20 streets remain without electricity.

As for Shepetivka district, there is partial damage to residential buildings, but no casualties are reported.

According to Serhiy Tyurin, deputy head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Military Administration, the death toll from the Russian missile strike in Khmelnytsky region has risen to two.

«Unfortunately, we already have two dead people», — he said in a statement.

According to Tyurin, our air defence forces shot down two missiles within the Khmelnytsky region. At the same time, the enemy struck at infrastructure facilities in the region. There is a fire, which is being localised by the State Emergency Service.

Earlier, the press service of the National Police reported that an apartment building was damaged in Khmelnytsky due to Russian missile fire.
