Air Force reports shooting down more than 20 occupants' missiles

On the night and morning of January 23, Russian occupation forces carried out a coordinated missile attack on Ukraine, utilizing cruise, ballistic, air, and anti-aircraft guided missiles. A total of 41 airborne attack vehicles were identified, with the majority of the missiles launched being ballistic.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the details of the attack:

  • 4 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles launched from the Belgorod region towards the Kharkiv region.
  • 15 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles launched from six Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area – Engels).
  • 8 X-22 missiles launched from Tu-22M3 bombers stationed in the Bryansk and Orel regions, targeting the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
  • 12 Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from the Belgorod and Voronezh regions.
  • 2 X-59 guided missiles launched from two Su-34 aircraft (launch area – Belgorod region).

In response to the attack, the Air Force, in collaboration with the Air Defence Forces, successfully neutralized 15 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles, 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, and an X-59 guided missile during the combat operations.
