The arrival of reinforcements, including Bradley armored personnel carriers, in the Avdiivka area indicates that the Ukrainian Defence Forces are resolute in not surrendering Avdiivka. This was reported by the correspondent of Hromadske Radio in Donetsk region, Yanina Lvutina.
Citing a statement from the head of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, Vitaliy Barabash, Lvutina highlighted that areas such as Soborna Street and the Tsarska Okhota complex, which Russian occupiers claimed to have captured, have consistently experienced gunfire, ongoing clashes, and the establishment of defensive positions. Consequently, assertions by Russian propagandists regarding the success of the occupation forces are deemed somewhat exaggerated.
Levutina noted that due to continuous shelling, volunteers and journalists are currently unable to access Avdiivka. The region has also witnessed an escalation in air strikes, with over 300 recorded since the beginning of January. Despite the challenging conditions, the head of the city emphasizes that the situation is under control. While the enemy has approached the outskirts of the city, there is no cause for undue concern.
With almost 45,000 Russian troops stationed near Avdiivka, the correspondent reported significant losses incurred by the enemy in the region. Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, received by the soldiers of the 80th Brigade, are playing a crucial role in repelling the occupiers.
«The orcs are very afraid of these vehicles, considering them as tank destroyers. The fact that reinforcements and foreign equipment are arriving affirms the commitment to defend Avdiivka, even in the face of a substantial presence of Russian soldiers», — stated the journalist from Hromadske Radio.
