A bathtub from a damaged apartment ended up on the roof of a neighbouring kindergarten — a correspondent about the shelling of Odesa

In the evening, Russian occupants targeted Odesa with a Shahed-131/136 UAV. The debris from one of the «Shaheds» struck a partially inhabited high-rise building in the Khadzhibey district of Odesa.

Odesa-based correspondent Yulia Afanasyeva reported this on Hromadske Radio:

«A fire erupted at the impact site, causing damage to several apartments. One person was burned and subsequently hospitalized. The destruction was so severe that a bathroom from one apartment ended up on the roof of a neighboring kindergarten. Residents, who took shelter in the apartment, managed to escape, but one person sustained injuries. His wife recounted that the blast wave carried away their dogs. Two of these dogs are still missing, and two are confirmed to have perished in the attack».

Afanasyeva mentioned that there are no power outages in the city at present. Utility workers are actively addressing the sites affected by the shelling. Partial evacuations of residents from damaged buildings are underway, and psychologists are on-site due to the extensive damage.

On the previous night, Russian troops launched two waves of attacks with Shahed-131/136 UAVs on the southern regions of Ukraine. The primary impact occurred in Odesa, resulting in six injuries.

During that night, air defense forces successfully destroyed 11 Shahed attack drones launched by the Russians from the south.
