When the Russians and their associates proclaim an intensification of counter-sabotage (filtration) measures in the occupied territories, it typically implies one of three scenarios. Serhiy Lyshenko, a Zaporizhzhia Regional Council deputy, shared insights on this matter during an interview on Hromadske Radio.
«Firstly, the occupiers may be gearing up for a significant troop movement, necessitating a reduction in road congestion and heightened control over individuals with genuine reasons to travel. The transfer of troops invariably strains infrastructure, and limiting public exposure minimizes the risk of information reaching the adversary.
The second rationale involves internal political processes within the occupied territories. This could entail establishing control over specific groups of people, exemplified in the case of Enerhodar, where occupiers sought to prevent the departure of ZNPP employees. I know individuals who fled in the clothes they were wearing», — revealed Lyshenko.
Lyshenko outlined the third motive for the occupiers’ filtration measures: possessing information about certain actions by the Armed Forces or the Security Service of Ukraine. In this context, the invaders aim to thwart the execution of these plans or, conversely, conceal the aftermath of successful actions by the Defence Forces.
Previously, the National Resistance Centre reported that Russian authorities had instructed the FSB border service to enhance the counterintelligence regime on the administrative border of the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and the Kherson region.
