After the loss of the Ivanivets missile boat, there is a momentary calm in the Black Sea as Russian occupiers deliberate on their next tactics.
This was reported by Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk.
Pletenchuk emphasized the dynamic nature of warfare, stating:
«War is always a search for action and counteraction. The occupiers are currently evaluating the circumstances leading to this unique situation and formulating their future tactics».
Highlighting Ukrainian ingenuity, Pletenchuk noted that the enemy now faces a deadlock, prompting them to assess the feasibility of their actions.
«The occupiers are figuring out why this situation occurred and are formulating their next steps. The current lull signifies their deliberation on how to proceed at sea, as there is no permanent antidote to the Russians», — he explained
On the night of February 1, soldiers from the Group 13 special forces unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine launched an attack on the Ivanovets missile boat of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Lake Donuzlav, occupied Crimea. Using surface kamikaze drones, they successfully struck the boat multiple times, causing it to list to the stern and eventually sink. The estimated cost of the boat is $60-70 million, and the preliminary information suggests that the Russian occupiers’ search and rescue operation was unsuccessful.
