The Russian army is using phosphorus shells to attack Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, leading to fuel oil tanks catching fire.
This was reported by the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, redeployed to Avdiivka.
A poisonous smog is now spreading across the entire territory of the Avdiivka Coke Plant. Occupiers are dropping 60 aircraft bombs on the city, using artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and conducting continuous assaults with armored vehicles and infantry, according to the soldiers on the ground.
«Vara», the commander of the 2nd mechanized battalion of the brigade, noted that units are resisting the enemy with dignity, defending and inflicting significant losses on the opposing forces.
Earlier, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, reported intense fighting within Avdiivka. He also confirmed the General Staff’s information about reinforcing defense units in Avdiivka and allocating additional resources, including ammunition and other munitions, to the units.
