The soldiers of the 25th separate assault battalion of the 47th Mechanised Brigade, the last to depart from the Avdiivka Coke Plant after four months of defense, suffered no casualties, according to a statement from the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade.

In their statement, the military expressed gratitude, stating:

«The soldiers of the 25th separate assault battalion of the 47th Brigade were the last to leave the Avdiivka Coke Plant after four months of defense. Without any losses! The brigade command did everything possible to protect our soldiers by providing powerful fire support».

The statement highlighted the continuous efforts of the occupiers since the end of October 2023 to seize the enterprise. Despite formidable assaults, the soldiers, including Bradley crews, FPV drone operators, and infantry, effectively thwarted the enemy’s advances.

The military acknowledged the dedication, dignity, and courage displayed by each soldier throughout the entire period, giving due honor to their service. Other units of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade are maintaining their positions in the designated areas.

As previously reported, on the night of February 17, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ordered the retreat of Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka to more favorable defensive positions, aiming to avoid encirclement and preserve the lives of Ukrainian servicemen.
