In the span of four months, Russians launched approximately 160 drones at Nikopol — correspondent

In the four months since the Russians began employing drones in Nikopol, approximately 160 of these unmanned aircraft have been reported, a staggering number for a small city. Anna Tseluyko, a correspondent in Nikopol, shared this information on Hromadske Radio.

According to her, the night was fraught with alarms and shelling, yet the residential sector has remained intact with no reported casualties. The more significant instances of shelling with casualties and destruction typically occur in the morning during daylight hours. Tseluyko humorously notes that there’s a routine to the shelling, as residents jest that one could set an alarm clock for 8 a.m. when the shelling tends to commence, coinciding with people heading to work.

«This week we have witnessed injuries and a fatality. The situation is tense, and the security conditions are worsening due to the deployment of various types of drones – reconnaissance drones, UAVs, and fpv drones. Over the four months since the onset of drone usage in Nikopol, around 160 of them have been observed, a notably high number for a small town. Residents, however, struggle with understanding how to protect themselves from these drones, with seeking refuge in shelters being the primary means of safety. Yet, casualties are still unavoidable when people are outdoors», – she further stated

Tseluyko highlighted that, over almost two years of shelling in Nikopol, residents have learned to distinguish between different types of weapons. Still, the air raid alarm goes off after the initial salvo, prompting residents to clear the streets. She concluded by expressing that the current situation feels more unsettling than it did at the beginning of the shelling.
