Russian activities involving FPV drones in the border area of Chernihiv region have increased — correspondent

The border regions of Chernihiv region continue to endure Russian shelling, utilizing various types of weapons. Despite the option for local residents to evacuate, the majority choose to stay.

Pavlo Solodovnyk, a correspondent in Chernihiv region, reported this on Hromadske Radio, stating:

«Last night in Chernihiv region unfolded much like every day since the de-occupation. Border areas face constant artillery and mortar attacks, with an increased use of FPV drones by the enemy. Communities in Novhorod-Siverska, Snovska, and Horodnyanska in Chernihiv suffer the most, occasionally experiencing tragic incidents such as rocket attacks. Currently, there is a slight decrease in the use of aviation».

Despite the ongoing shelling, Solodovnyk emphasized that the situation in the region remains relatively stable and under control. Therefore, there is no immediate need for forced or large-scale evacuation in any part of the region.

«Despite Russian claims of mass evacuation in Chernihiv region, the reality is that there is no widespread evacuation in the border area. While voluntary evacuation has been announced in all regions along the border, it is not occurring on a mass scale», —  he added.
