The defendant in the «Crimean Muslims» case, activist Rustem Murasov, who was unlawfully sentenced to 12 years in prison, is currently undergoing a transfer to the Russian city of Vladimir.
This was reported by the Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
According to the statement, Rustem Murasov, sentenced in the context of the «Crimean Muslims» case, has communicated that he is in the process of being transferred to the city of Vladimir. The transfer commenced on February 17, with Murasov leaving the Novocherkassk detention center along with three other defendants involved in the case.
It is worth noting that the events leading to this transfer date back to August 17, 2022, when extensive searches occurred in the homes of Crimean Tatars in the Simferopol and Bakhchisaray districts of Crimea, as well as in the Balaklava and Nakhimov districts of Sevastopol. Following these searches, Russian special services detained activists Rustem Murasov, Rustem Tairov, Zavur Abdullayev, and Dzhebbar Bekirov. They faced charges under Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organization of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization), along with Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Preparation for the violent seizure of power by an organized group by prior conspiracy).
