The evacuation of civilians from the border settlements of the Velykopysarivska community is extremely challenging due to the destruction of the bridge to Popivka by the Russian occupiers.
Oleksiy Pasyuga, editor of the Velykopysarivska newspaper Vorskla, reported this on Hromadske Radio.
«Even with a strong desire, reaching the village of Popivka is impossible. Therefore, people were compelled to come here somehow, and then the village council, along with the police and rescuers, organized the evacuation. They transported people across the remains of the bridge, loaded them onto buses, and sent them to their desired destinations.
Popivka remains isolated, and it is perhaps the most severely affected village. It has been enduring constant shelling, and in the past few days alone, according to some reports, at least five people have lost their lives. The fate of many villagers remains unknown. Relatives are attempting to contact them, but there is no communication available», — stated Oleksiy Pasyuga.
Regarding the evacuation from Velyka Pysarivka, it was prearranged to relocate people to the Hrunska community of Okhtyrka district. Those unwilling to stay there have the option to leave Okhtyrka for any part of Ukraine, according to the source from Hromadske Radio.
