The strike on the centre of Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy region was atypical — journalist

An airstrike on the center of Velyka Pysarivka in the Sumy region resulted in the destruction and damage to the main administrative buildings of the village.

This information was reported by Oleksiy Pasyuga, editor of the Velyka Pysarivka newspaper «Vorskla», on Hromadske Radio.

The strike on the center of Velyka Pysarivka yesterday was one among many Russian attacks on the border of the Sumy region. However, according to a source from Hromadske Radio, this attack was atypical.

«Usually, they would fly past the village, but this time, five UAVs (some say six) were aimed at the village. The destruction is enormous because the village is quite compact in terms of the location of organizations and institutions. We lost the House of Culture, which was damaged for the second time, the police station, the editorial office, the post office was split in two, and the library was damaged», — said Oleksiy Pasyuga.

According to him, until recently, about three thousand residents remained in Velyka Pysarivka, but people «started leaving very quickly when the shelling became more frequent.»

«When the evacuation began because people realized the danger, it (the village – ed.) was emptied out quite quickly. Now you can rarely see people there. These are either those who have nowhere else to go, or those who have not yet realized that it is extremely dangerous to stay in the village», — added the editor of the Vorskla newspaper.
