On March 18th, Anastasia Maryanchuk, known by her call sign «Troy», and serving as a medic with the 67th Brigade, tragically lost her life in the Donetsk region while evacuating wounded soldiers.
The news of the death of this esteemed medic was reported by fellow soldier Dana Nika.
«Does it hurt? It’s unbearable! Burying your comrades is the most painful thing… She was the epitome of our nation, kind, beautiful, and courageous… The enemy will undoubtedly face retribution for her loss, but nothing can replace the absence of our loved ones», — she shared on Facebook on March 19th.
Anastasia Maryanchuk, known as «Troy», was pursuing Japanese studies at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The university expressed its sorrow over the loss of its student on its social media platforms.
In the first year of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Anastasia took a sabbatical to defend Ukraine. Subsequently, she joined the 1st Infantry Battalion of the 67th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, serving as a dedicated medic.
