A massive strike on Ukraine: Air defense forces destroyed 84 out of 99 air targets overnight

On the night of March 29, Russian occupiers launched a powerful missile and air strike against Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector, employing various types of missiles and attack UAVs. Air defense forces destroyed 84 air targets.

This was reported by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning.

In total, the enemy launched 99 air targets:

  • 60 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs (launched from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area in the Kursk region, Russia).
  • 3 X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (launched from three MiG-31K fighters in the Ryazan region, Russia).
  • 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (fired from the TOT Crimea).
  • 9 X-59 guided missiles (launched from nine Su-34 aircraft in the Belgorod region, Russia).
  • 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles (fired from the Kursk region, Russia).
  • 21 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles (launched from eleven Tu-95MS strategic bombers in Engels, Russia).

Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and the Army, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the missile attack.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 84 air targets were destroyed:

  • 58 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs.
  • 17 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles.
  • 5 X-59 guided missiles.
  • 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles.
