The situation is dire in the Novopavlivka sector of the Donetsk region, where the enemy is employing all available weapons to advance. Yaroslav Chepurnyi, spokesman for the 79th separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces, reported on the intensifying fighting.
«The situation in the Novopavlivka sector is exceedingly complex and challenging. Despite sustaining losses, the enemy persistently directs its forces against the 79th Brigade. These forces consist of infantry supported by armored vehicles, aircraft, artillery, as well as strikes with Combat Air Bombs (CABs) and FPV drones. In essence, by unleashing such a formidable barrage of firepower, they aim to dislodge us from Novomykhailivka to capture the settlement. The enemy is employing all available weapons to seize our positions», — the spokesman stated.
According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to repel enemy advances in the Novopavlivka sector, particularly in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Urozhayne. On 4 April alone, the enemy attempted to breach the defenses of our troops more than 20 times, supported by aviation.
As a reminder, the losses of Russian troops and their mercenaries in Ukraine amount to approximately 445,900. On 4 April, Ukrainian defenders neutralized at least 860 Russian occupants.
