As of the morning of April 8th, 398 settlements in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions were left without power supply in Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of NPC Ukrenergo.
Throughout the day, Russian attacks damaged Ukrenergo’s power facilities in Dnipro and eastern regions.
«During the night, an attack by Russian missiles and UAVs in the Dnipro region damaged equipment at one of Ukrenergo’s substations and two high-voltage overhead lines. However, there were no power outages. Yesterday, in the east, in one of the frontline areas, a 330 kV high-voltage substation of Ukrenergo was de-energised due to shelling», — the statement said.
Starting from 06:00 on Monday, hourly blackouts will be implemented in the Kharkiv region. Consumption limits for industrial consumers in the Kryvyi Rih region also remain in effect.
«Emergency repair works are ongoing under difficult conditions and continue around the clock. In the eastern region, Ukrenergo repair crews have restored operation to some of the equipment damaged by shelling at one of the substations», — the state company stated.
Imports from four countries and exports to five countries are planned throughout the day.
Imports are scheduled in the evening from Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova, totaling 667 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 317 MW in some hours.
Exports are scheduled during the daytime hours of maximum activity of RES power plants to Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova, totaling 1,455 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 388 MW in some hours.
Earlier reports indicate that the Russians have altered their tactics in attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, utilizing high-precision missiles to target power plants in less protected areas. According to the Financial Times, some facilities may not be fully restored until next winter.
