On the morning of April 17th, Russian occupants launched an attack on Chernihiv, resulting in casualties and injuries. The Chernihiv Regional Blood Centre urgently announced the need for O-negative blood.
This was reported by Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the regional military administration.
«The enemy targeted Chernihiv with rockets, causing casualties and injuries», — he stated.
Acting mayor of Chernihiv, Oleksandr Lomak, reported that the attack struck a social infrastructure facility.
The Chernihiv Regional Blood Centre emphasized an immediate requirement for blood donations, particularly O-negative blood.
Previously, Ukrainian authorities declared an air alert in several regions due to the threat of Russian missile strikes, including Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Poltava, and Cherkasy regions, as well as Kyiv itself. Shortly after, the Air Force confirmed missile launches towards Chernihiv and Kyiv.
At 9:29 a.m., the alerts in the northern regions were lifted after approximately 40 minutes of alert.
