russian troops in Kharkiv Region are trying to stretch Ukrainian defence — head of the regional military administration

In the Kharkiv region, russian occupiers are launching attacks in small groups, aiming to test the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was emphasized by Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

«Our soldiers are successfully holding off the enemy in these areas. We have recently repelled about 15 enemy attacks. The situation is challenging, but our soldiers are effectively repelling all enemy assaults. We’ve observed an increase in activity within the grey zone and along the front line. The enemy is deliberately attempting to stretch our defenses by launching attacks in small groups in new directions», — Synehubov stated.

In related news, Yevhen Kaplin, the head of the Proliska humanitarian mission, reported on Hromadske Radio that approximately 5,700 people had been evacuated from frontline areas in the Kharkiv region within three days.

On May 10th, Russian occupation forces escalated their activities in the Kharkiv region, resulting in clashes. The Ministry of Defence confirmed the dispatch of reserve units to the northern part of the region. Regional authorities issued reminders for residents to evacuate from areas under fire.

Earlier, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, highlighted that the situation at the front remains tense, with intense fighting ongoing in four areas, and rapid changes in the situation are being observed.
