The battle in Kharkiv Region continues, enemy has tactical success — The General Staff of the AFU

In the Kharkiv Region, the operational situation remains complicated and dynamically changing, with the occupiers achieving tactical success in the battle for Vovchansk.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

«Fighting is ongoing in the areas of Pylyna – Lukiantsi, Pylyna – Hlyboke, Pylyna – Oliynykove, Murom – Bugrivatka.

Additionally, the enemy is conducting assault operations in the areas of Strilecha – Hlyboke, Oliynykove – Hlyboke, Oliynykove – Lukiantsi, Murom – Staritsa, Pletenivka – Tykhyne», — the statement said.

The enemy launched 22 assault attacks in these areas during the day. Fighting continues for the border town of Vovchansk.

«The enemy has deployed significant forces of up to five battalions to attack the city and is disregarding its own losses. The Russian invaders lost more than 100 occupants in this area alone over the last day. The enemy is currently enjoying tactical success.

Measures are being planned to destroy the enemy that has intervened in our defense», — the General Staff said.

Ukrainian defenders are conducting defensive operations, inflicting fire damage on the enemy, and making extensive use of unmanned aerial systems for reconnaissance and launching pinpoint strikes to inflict maximum losses.

«We continue to deploy reserves to stabilize the situation. When determining the tasks for the troops, one of the priorities is to save the lives of our soldiers», — the military added.

On May 10, Russian occupation forces intensified their activities in the Kharkiv region, and fighting is ongoing there. The Ministry of Defense reported that reserve units were sent to the north of Kharkiv region.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the situation at the front remains tense, with intense fighting continuing in four areas, and the situation is changing very rapidly.
