Evacuation of civilians continues in the border communities of Sumy Region. The day before, mandatory evacuation began in Bilopillia.
This information was reported on Hromadske Radio by journalist and co-founder of Kordon.media, Alyona Yatsyna.
She stated that there is currently no panic in Sumy following the statement by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Budanov, regarding the possible offensive of the russian occupiers in the north of the Sumy region.
«If there are queues at petrol stations, it means the situation is difficult. If there are none, then everything is fine. Yesterday there were none, although it’s quite a hotbox here – the tension was so intense. However, people have not panicked and are not panicking», — said Alyona Yatsyna.
She also recalled that evacuation from the border communities in the five-kilometre zone began in July 2023.
«Additional measures are now being introduced. Since April, children have been forcibly evacuated from two communities: Seredyno-Budska and Velykopysarivska. Last week, nine children remained in Velykopysarivska, and 170 in Seredina-Budska.
A week before Easter, evacuation began in the Khotyn community – people are also being gradually relocated from there. Mandatory evacuation from Bilopillia started yesterday. Twenty-eight people, including six children, left there. There is currently no mandatory evacuation from Vorozhba», — reported the Hromadske Radio source.
