Missile strike on Odesa: fire at civilian facility continues, three injured reported

As a result of a missile attack on Odesa by Russian occupiers, a fire broke out in a warehouse of a civilian infrastructure facility, burning plastic and causing a column of black smoke to rise over the city. Three people are known to have been injured.

This was reported by Hromadske Radio correspondent Yulia Afanasyeva from Odesa.

As reported, the Russian occupiers attacked the civilian infrastructure of Odesa on the morning of 24 June. Regional authorities reported casualties and a fire.

«We already know about three victims. These are a 19-year-old boy and two men aged 50 and 58. They are hospitalized, and their condition is currently unknown.

The people have been warned about the burning of plastic. I am about 15 kilometers away from the explosion site, and the sky above me is grey, as if it is cloudy, although it is sunny in Odesa. My friends who live closer to the site say that the smoke is black and thick. Residents are asked to close their windows. However, the smoke is now gradually dissipating», — said Yulia Afanasyeva.

At the same time, the fire is still ongoing. There is a lot of plastic and flammable substances at the site of the fire, so the fire can last for a long time. There is no question of any warehouse with missiles, as reported by Russian propagandists. A Hromadske Radio correspondent confirmed that there was no secondary detonation.

According to preliminary data, the enemy struck with a Kalibr missile.
