A Russian attack on the Nova Poshta terminal in Kharkiv on June 30 left nine people injured and one dead. The youngest victim was an 8-month-old child who sustained bruises. The child’s mother was also injured.
This was reported by Anna Chernenko, a correspondent for Hromadske Radio in Kharkiv. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, ten people were injured.
«There were many people who suffered fractures, bruises, some scratches, minor contusions. These are people who managed to get down to the shelter, but the blast wave also reached them, or who were going down when the explosion occurred», — the correspondent said.
According to Anna Chernenko, the air raid in Kharkiv region yesterday began at around 05:20 and ended after 18:00. During this time, people could not stay in the shelter continuously, but Nova Poshta drivers rushed to the shelter whenever there was a threat of a CAB.
In the immediate vicinity of the impact site, there were non-operational industrial facilities, administrative buildings, and cars. Therefore, according to Anna Chernenko, more people could have been injured if the impact point had been different.
About 10-12 cars belonging to drivers who work with Nova Poshta were damaged. Some cars were burnt to ashes.
«It was very emotionally difficult to watch yesterday when the guys were fixing the cars with whatever they could. They were taken away by the men who came to get the cars, the owners. It even seemed that they were not running, but they managed to repair them a little bit to take them out to continue working. Because for each of them, this is a fragment, a part of their business, the only way to make money now», — the correspondent said.
As a reminder, on June 30, the enemy hit the Nova Poshta terminal in Kharkiv. The number of people injured in the Russian strike reached ten.
The man who died as a result of the enemy strike was a postal worker. The strike hit the vehicle fleet, destroying eight vehicles and damaging dozens.
As the head of the regional state administration said on June 30, the debris is being cleared. There could have been nine people at the site of the hit, and they are being searched for.
