Fighting continues in the Kharkiv and Vovchansk sectors. In particular, there are two battles in Vovchansk. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has launched six attacks in different parts of the frontline. There were 10 combat engagements over the last day. The Russians launched 17 air strikes against our positions. They also carried out strikes with kamikaze drones and significantly increased their firepower.
Yuriy Povkh, spokesman for the Kharkiv regional military unit, told Hromadske Radio.
«The most important task now is to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, and we are succeeding. If at the beginning of active operations there were about 10,000 enemy personnel in this area of the front, then the losses in wounded and killed here in two months amounted to more than 10,000 people. In other words, nominally, the Russians have used up the forces they planned to use at the beginning of the fighting», — said Povkh.
According to him, over the past day, the enemy lost 117 personnel, killed and wounded, in the sector. Moreover, one tank, two armored combat vehicles, four artillery systems, nine vehicles, and 36 UAVs were destroyed.
In addition, 60 enemy hideouts were destroyed. Units of special equipment are also constantly being destroyed, including excavators, radar stations, UAV launch pads, fuel storage facilities, and ammunition.
Previously, Russians have been actively using unmanned aerial vehicles at the border. Yuriy Povkh commented on the current situation as follows:
«All parties to the armed conflict are using UAVs both in the format of kamikaze drones and in the format of reconnaissance. That is why the battlefield is now virtually dominated by UAVs, which are being countered by electronic warfare and other means. However, we can now state that UAVs are one of the dominant types of both reconnaissance and firepower», — said the spokesman for the Kharkiv Regional Military Unit.
