President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on US President Joe Biden’s announcement that he will not run for president.
He wrote about this on his X page.
Zelenskyy emphasized that during his presidency, Biden made a number of difficult and strong decisions that “will be remembered as bold steps in response to difficult times.»
“Ukraine is grateful to President Biden for his unwavering support of our country’s fight for freedom, which, along with strong bipartisan support in the United States, has been and remains critical.
There have been many strong decisions made in recent years that will be remembered as bold steps taken by President Biden in response to challenging times. And we respect his difficult but strong decision today.
We will always be grateful for President Biden’s leadership. He stood by our country in the most dramatic moment in history, helped us prevent Putin’s occupation of our country, and continues to support us throughout this horrific war.
The current situation in Ukraine and across Europe is no less challenging, and we sincerely hope that America’s continued strong leadership will prevent Russian evil from succeeding or reaping the benefits of its aggression.»
As a reminder, Joe Biden announced his intention to withdraw from the presidential race.
Biden said that he made this decision in the interests of the country and the Democratic Party and advised Democrats to rally around Vice President Kamala Harris, who confirmed her desire to run for president.
The US presidential election will be held on November 5.
