Russian occupiers are constantly striking Kharkiv. In particular, yesterday, on September 1, they targeted civilian infrastructure in three districts. A total of 47 people were injured, including seven children.
Dmytro Chubenko, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, discussed the consequences of the missile strikes on Hromadske Radio.
“We have identified eight hit sites. The occupiers used Iskander-M and S-300/400 missiles.»
The spokesperson noted that a shopping center and commercial premises were destroyed in the Saltiv district. More than a dozen vehicles were also destroyed as a result of the Russian strike.
In the Nemyshlyansky district, a direct hit was recorded on the building of a sports complex. According to the prosecutor’s office, the enemy hit the building a total of six times.
“The occupiers hit this building with several strikes. This indicates that the Russian Federation targeted this facility, which is further proof of war crimes.»
Chubenko added that, fortunately, there were no fatalities from the missile strike. However, several people suffered serious injuries, although their lives are not in danger.
“It’s a miracle that no one was killed.»
The expert noted that the enemy had never used so many ballistic missiles in a single attack on Kharkiv before. The occupiers have also started actively using bombs to strike the city since Friday.
“Before that, they hadn’t used the bombs for a month. Also, from May until yesterday, the Russians did not fire S-300/400 missiles at Kharkiv.»
The spokesman added that last night the occupiers shelled Kharkiv again. According to the Kharkiv mayor, two “Shahed” drones hit a private house in the Kyiv district of the city and an educational institution in the Sloboda district.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the educational institution had already been under enemy fire. A private house was hit in the Kyivskyi district, injuring a 66-year-old woman.
In addition, a rocket attack in Kharkiv’s Industrial district caused a fire in a gardening community.
“The type of missile and information about the victims are being clarified.»
As a reminder, Russians shelled Kharkiv on September 1, using several missiles at each location. This was reported by Hromadske Radio journalist Anna Chernenko from the scene.
“The Russians fired four missiles at one location, where private houses, a sports facility, and administrative buildings are located. Two missiles hit the area with shopping centers, high-rise buildings, and private housing. Preliminary reports suggest that these were Iskander-M missiles», — she said.
According to Anna Chernenko, it was clear from the very beginning that the Russians were not using bombs. The proof of this is the large craters that only missiles leave behind.
A Hromadske Radio journalist reported that two medics and two rescuers were among those injured in the shelling. The people who arrived at the scene of the shelling first were hit again. Citing eyewitnesses, she said that only a few minutes passed between the first and second strikes.
