The Champion met Viktor Milevskyi in May of this year in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) during Oleksandr Usyk’s fight with Tycon Fury. After the announcement of the result of the historic megafight by Michael Buffer, he noticed with surprise — Milevskyi was already in the ring congratulating Usyk on his victory. Back in the spring of this year, Viktor Milevskyi founded his own promotion company Global Ukrainian Promotion.
The first boxing event in which Victor took part took place on January 20, 2024 in the Kyiv Palace of Sports. Milevskyi provided the organizers with financial assistance in the amount of 2 million hryvnias. And already at the event itself, he took part in a charity auction, the goal of which was to collect 5 million hryvnias. 2.5 million hryvnias were collected for the restoration of the school in Mykolaiv, which was bombed by Russian barbarians.
Another 2.5 million — to help the Ukrainian army: the purchase of drones, ammunition, as well as other necessary things for the patrol police of Ukraine. The organizers exhibited 4 or 5 lots, including boxing gloves with the autograph of Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
Victor felt that the auction was going a bit sluggishly and there would be few chances to raise such necessary funds for the children and the Armed Forces. Therefore, he turned to the initiator and informed that he was ready to purchase all the lots at once. And he is ready to pay 5 million hryvnias for them — just the amount that needed to be collected.
«Of course, it was not about the lots at all, but about the fact that the funds were needed for clear and correct purposes, — Milevskiy admits. — I also paid fees to some boxers who entered the ring of the Sports Palace. Although he had nothing to do with them. I did it because I understand the hard work of boxers. So my expenses for the January event amounted to almost 8 million hryvnias.»
The next boxing show took place in Kyiv in August. Viktor paid 7 million hryvnias to close the lease of the Palace of Sports and pay other organizational costs. A total of 4 million hryvnias went to pay fees to all the boxers who boxed that evening — both his new brainchild Global Ukrainian Promotion and the boxers of Fanian SpartaBox. This amount also included the costs of the training camp before the matches.
And due to the fact that the evening of boxing was once again for charity, an auction was held during the event, as is traditional. Milevskyi purchased more than a million lots. Summing up, its expenditure this time amounted to about 12 million hryvnias. That is, in fact he paid more than 80% of the total budget of the tournament.
Viktor had the idea to open a promotional company Global Ukrainian Promotion at the beginning of this year. This was facilitated by the president of WBC Ukraine, Mykola Kovalchuk, who introduced Milevskyi to the world of professional boxing from the inside. Currently, three boxers are under contract with the promotion company – Serhiy Radchenko, Yaroslav Mikhalushko and Maksym Molodan. At one time Serhiy was a sparring partner of Volodymyr Klitschko and Oleksandr Usyk.
In the short time of our cooperation, he has already won the WBC Silver world title in bridgeweight. The next step is the fight for the title of world champion. Mikhalushko became the champion of Ukraine, won the WBC Ukraine title and will fight for the WBC Youth title this Saturday in Lviv. This is the title of world champion among youth (under 25 years) according to the version of the World Boxing Council. Max Molodan gets serious opponents and smoothly transforms from an amateur boxer into a professional.
Viktor Milevskyi is the owner of the «ONK» group of companies, which supplies electricity and natural gas to domestic enterprises. Milevskyi’s forecast of how Ukraine will get through the third winter since the full-scale invasion is cautiously optimistic.
«For a long time, Russian barbarians mistakenly believe that attacks on critical infrastructure will allow them to sow chaos among Ukrainians, — Victor says. — That is why they hit power plants and substations. The leadership of our country took a good step by providing the opportunity to receive loans on preferential terms for the purchase of equipment for alternative energy.
Currently, solar panels, gas installations, wind stations, accumulators that accumulate electricity and generators are being imported to Ukraine on an industrial scale. This allows you to significantly reduce the risks of «blackouts». Another positive trend is that over the past year, we have significantly reduced the time it takes to restore infrastructure and power supply after missile strikes».
