The Azov regiment (Azov Special Operations Detachment) whose soldiers continue to defend the city Mariupol, reported that Russian troops used a poisonous substance of unknown origins on both military and civilian targets in Mariupol around 9 pm. The substance was delivered via an unmanned aerial device.
These reports were made public through a message that appeared on the Telegram channel of the Azov regiment.
«The victims have respiratory failure, vestibulocerebellar syndrome. The effects of the use of the unknown substance are being clarified,” the regiment added.
The day before this attack, Eduard Basurin, a Russian militant from the DNR and one of the leaders of the DNR People’s Militia said that Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol should be locked inside the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works factory and then leak chemical weapons into the factory.
Mariupol has been under siege since the beginning of March. Russian troops fire missiles, and use tanks and jet systems on the city’s infrastructure on a daily basis. 90% of the city’s houses have been destroyed, and countless civilians have been killed. To cover up their crimes, Russian aggressors allegedly burn the bodies of civilians in mobile crematoriums.
It is estimated that there are now about 130,000 civilians left in the city.
Soldiers of the Azov Regiment continue to defend the city.
