Since the start of the war, Russian troops have killed 186 children in Ukraine, reported the Office of the Attorney General on Telegram.
According to the UCP, as of the morning of April 12, the Russian invasion has affected over 530 children, including 186 killed and more than 344 injured.
The data is not conclusive as work is underway to collect more information in areas where there are active hostilities.
Children have suffered most in the Donetsk region, the total number affected is currently 113. The numbers for other regions: Kyiv region – 99, Kharkiv region – 76, Chernihiv region – 54, Mykolaiv region – 40, Luhansk region – 36, Kherson region – 36, Zaporizhia region – 22, in the capital – 16, Sumy region – 16, Zhytomyr region – 15.
Following the liberation of Bucha, a shot up car was found in the village. Outside the vehicle were the bodies of five people including a one-year-old child and a 14-year-old boy.
As the Ukrainian army surveyed the area they found the body of a five-year-old child with multiple bodily injuries that appeared to have been caused by artillery fire.
On April 8, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl was killed in a shelling of a house in Mariupol.
On April 11, a Russian shelling in Kharkiv killed a 13-year-old boy.
As a result of the bombing and shelling by Russian troops 938 educational institutions were damaged, 87 of which were completely destroyed.
Additionally the mayor of Mariupol, Vadim Boychenko, reported that over 10 thousand civilians were killed during siege of Mariupol.
