One-third of all combat engagements take place in the Pokrovsk sector — Ukrainian National Guard spokesman

Russian troops are concentrating their forces in the Pokrovsk direction, actively deploying infantry, vehicles, and artillery there. The largest number of combat engagements on the frontline is taking place in this region, and enemy casualties are increasing.

This was stated by Colonel Ruslan Muzychuk, spokesman for the National Guard of Ukraine, on Hromadske Radio.

«In recent weeks, we have seen that a third, and sometimes more, of combat engagements take place in the Pokrovsk sector. The enemy is trying to conduct hostilities in the direction of many localities—Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Toretsk. The enemy is trying to redeploy forces from other areas and bring in reserves. That is why this is the area of the main Russian attack.»

According to Muzychuk, Russian aviation also poses a threat, with most of the enemy’s air attacks targeting the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions. Ukrainian defenders are using drones and artillery to counter Russian offensives, the colonel said.

He noted that the terrain, the dense location of small and relatively large settlements, and the construction of fortifications help to deter the Russians. They will not succeed over a large area and will not be able to expand their offensive, Muzychuk said.

«In recent months, Russian losses in manpower, artillery systems, and FPV drones have increased. The National Guard units destroy more than ten artillery systems per day. The enemy has also started using more infantry, particularly in the Kurakhove and Toretsk directions, and we have started destroying it more.»

Muzychuk added that in the south, particularly in the Zaporizhzhia sector, Russian movements are ongoing, but the intensity of hostilities and the number of enemy attacks is lower there.

«There were two combat engagements over the last day. We saw more intense attempts of Russian assaults in the Huliaipole sector last week. The enemy is constantly trying to use aviation—KABs, NARs. However, compared to the Donetsk region and the Eastern sector in general, the intensity of hostilities is relatively low.»

As a reminder, Russian troops continue their offensive in the area of Chasiv Yar. They are attempting to cross the canal and enter the main part of the city. Fighting is also occurring to the east and south of Chasiv Yar.
