Support for veterans’ wives. The role of the family in social-and-psychological adapting of a veteran. Challenges and difficulties facing veterans and members of their families
Andriy Kozinchuk, military psychologist and ATO veteran, spoke about support that members of veterans’ families receive in the format of self-help groups.
Andriy Ilchenko, an ATO veteran, and his wife Yuliya Ilchenko, spoke in the studio of «Hromadske Radio» of how difficult it was for them to adapt after Andriy had returned from the ATO. They went to self-help groups together.
The psychologist called Andriy and Yuliya’s story successful and said it could become an example.
Svitlana Domanchuk, founder of «Zhyttya Pislya ATO» («Life After ATO») public organisation and internet resouce, told about self-help groups specifically for women, for ATO veterans’ wives. She also said that these groups enjoy popularity among women.
