In Kharkiv, russian troops have already destroyed 600 high-rise buildings

In the past 24 hours, Russian troops have fired at Kharkiv 65 times, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov told LIGA.net. Two Russian missiles were fired towards the city’s centre, with “tornadoes” completely covering the areas of Gorky Park and Sumy Market.

«The fighting does not stop. Our army is completely repelling their attacks. They fire at us from the air, from the “hail” grenade launchers. From all of their mortar installations. They are destroying entire neighborhoods, » says Ihor Terekhov.

According to the mayor, they hit administrative and police buildings, the Provincial Government Administration, City Hall and 48 schools were completely destroyed. Kindergartens, clinics, and hospitals were also hit.

«Yesterday they even fired at the perinatal centre. We foresaw this and had evacuated everyone from the building,» the mayor said.

They are shooting at everything that ensures the city’s livelihood, recounts the mayor. He noted that in a city of 1.5 million, more than 600 of the 8,000 high-rise buildings have been destroyed. On Monday, there was a meeting with a group of architects, where they planned how to restore the city.

«We are considering the creation of a fund for the revival of Kharkiv. We invite international architects. So that we can quickly develop a new concept for the city. After all, everything will need to be rebuilt,» explains Igor Terekhov.
