On New Year’s Eve, the Russian occupiers carried out a «ritualistic shelling» of Kherson. At exactly 23:00, when it was New Year’s Eve Moscow time, the occupiers began shelling the city of Kherson with MLRS.
This was reported on Hromadske Radio by Kherson correspondent Mykhailo Batrak:
«The New Year’s Eve in Kherson was the same as the whole last year. The occupiers shelled Kherson and the region. It was in Kherson that such a ritualistic shelling took place on New Year’s Eve. At exactly 23:00, when it was New Year’s Eve Moscow time, the occupiers started shelling the city of Kherson with MLRS and hit residential areas. Windows were smashed in the houses».
According to him, the occupiers shelled Antonivka and Sadove. Throughout the night, the occupiers continued to shell Kherson with MLRS and cannon artillery.
«During the day, the occupants had been shelling Kherson in the same way, a child, a boy, was killed as a result of the attack. Many people were injured in the Korabelny district», – the correspondent said.
He added that the Russians also shelled the central part of Kherson, hitting the courtyards of residential buildings, shattering windows. So far, nothing is known about the victims of the night attacks, but there is no electricity in the buildings with shattered windows and in part of Kherson. There is heating in Kherson, but it is partially absent in the Korabel neighbourhood.
According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the Russian army fired 123 times at Kherson region over the past day.
«Over the past day, the enemy carried out 123 attacks, firing 565 shells from mortars, artillery, Grad, tanks, UAVs and aircraft, including 1 missile. The enemy fired 92 shells at the city of Kherson», – he noted.
According to Prokudin, the Russian military hit residential areas, an administrative building, a medical facility, an educational institution, a critical infrastructure facility, a petrol station, a car centre and a base in Kherson, critical infrastructure facilities in Kherson district and an educational institution in Beryslav district.
One child was killed and 14 people were injured, including a child, as a result of Russian aggression.
