In Kupyansk, civilians are rarely seen on the streets — Ovsyannikov

In Kupyansk, sightings of civilians on the streets are scarce, particularly in the afternoons.

This was reported on Hromadske Radio by Serhiy Ovsyannikov, the former deputy mayor of Kupiansk and the head of the NGO «Kupiansk is Our Home».

According to Ovsyannikov, the city has been tumultuous in recent weeks, marked by shelling and destruction. The nights have been restless, with constant noise and disruption.

«We’ve witnessed a significant decline in the population, especially as winter sets in. The streets are nearly devoid of civilians. The dwindling numbers reflect a noticeable exodus, although some individuals express a desire to return to Kupyansk. The scarcity of people on the streets, especially in the afternoon, is striking», – Ovsyannikov remarked.

As a reminder, in recent days, Russian forces have intensified their attacks on the Kupiansk direction in the Kharkiv region.
