Russians attack Nikopol with new drones equipped with night vision cameras

On the evening of January 9, Russian occupation forces initiated their first attack on the Nikopol district using advanced drones equipped with night vision cameras.

This was reported by Yevhen Yevtushenko, the head of the district military administration.

In this late-night assault, the Russians employed a kamikaze drone to target Nikopol, followed by cannon artillery firing at the Marganetska community during the night. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but two private houses, an outbuilding, and a power line suffered damage.

«The evening UAV attack highlights the use of new drones equipped with night vision cameras. While such drones have been utilized on the frontline for a considerable time, this marks the first instance of their deployment in the district», — Yevtushenko emphasized

As Nikopol woke to a morning filled with anxiety, a warning was issued about the potential threat of enemy kamikaze drone usage. The Ukrainian Defence Forces were actively engaged in combat operations, urging local residents to stay indoors for safety.
