Russia’s missile attacks stem from the aggressor’s ambition to label 2023 as a «victorious» year, despite a lack of substantial military achievements. Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, conveyed this perspective in an interview with Le Monde.

«In comparison to previous years, there has been an uptick in Russia’s ammunition production since the end of summer 2023. Simultaneously, we observe a decline in the quality of these munitions», — Budanov highlighted,

Additionally, Budanov emphasized that Ukraine requires more shells and artillery systems, emphasizing that it extends beyond modern technologies. He stated,

«We are interested in everything, including old systems that are no longer in use. The quantity aspect is crucial».
