The Himalayan black bear, seriously injured in the zoo in the village of Yampil in Donetsk region due to Russian shelling, has found a new home in a zoo in Scotland.
This was reported by the BBC.
The bear, named after the village, was initially relocated to an animal sanctuary in Belgium before being transferred to the Five Sisters Zoo in Scotland. Upon arrival, zoo staff observed Yampil appearing relaxed and relishing his favorite food, cucumbers.
The bear will be closely monitored by the zoo staff to assess for any potential problems, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), arising from his time in the war zone.
