In Makiivka, Donetsk region, which has been occupied since 2014, the national flag was raised in honor of the Day of Unity of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Yellow Ribbon movement.

«Activists from the Yellow Ribbon Movement planted a blue and yellow flag near the Sonyachnyi neighborhood in Makiivka. Now, our flag proudly flies atop a spoil heap, providing a visible presence along the road from Donetsk to the border with Russia. Thousands of occupants who pass this route daily will witness that even in the ten-year shadow of occupation, we persist in our fight against the enemy, affirming that Donbass is Ukraine», — the activists captioned the accompanying photos and video.
