The number of people seeking to leave Avdiivka has risen, and the evacuation of the population is currently in progress, although it has become significantly more complicated.

Yanina Lvutina, a correspondent for Hromadske Radio in Donetsk Oblast, confirmed that there has been an increase in the number of individuals who had initially opted to remain in the city but have now reconsidered.

«The number of people wanting to leave has grown because the city has already suffered extensive damage. Exiting is challenging through a narrow passage, as the road leading to Avdiivka is consistently and heavily targeted by the enemy. Despite these difficulties, people continue to enter and exit, with approximately nine individuals doing so daily.

Currently, 1101 people remain in the city despite these challenges. However, the city’s military administration consistently emphasizes the necessity of mandatory evacuation, emphasizing the importance of leaving», — stated the journalist.

Avdiivka, being a fairly large city with surviving houses, is strategically significant. As the journalist mentioned, «Putin’s troops are making strenuous efforts to capture Avdiivka, as it is not entirely devastated like Maryinka».

Earlier, Western analysts reported that Russian troops had advanced near Avdiivka, coinciding with a significant loss of vehicles on their part.
