The occupiers have implemented a «special regime» at checkpoints in Crimea

On January 25, the head of the occupation authorities of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, issued a «decree» implementing a «special regime» for entry and exit between Crimea and the occupied part of the Kherson region.

The purpose of these new rules is stated as the «localization of threats to the security of the population, military, and other facilities» in occupied Crimea.

As per the «decree», citizens are required to cross the border at three designated road checkpoints and two railway crossing points, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The «decree» outlines that military convoys must use specifically designated roads in coordination with the Russian Federal Security Service. At checkpoints, individuals are obligated to present identification documents, while military personnel and law enforcement officers must furnish combat orders or service IDs.

There will be three road checkpoints – «Armyansk,» «Perekop,» and «Dzhankoy,» along with two railway checkpoints – «Armyansk» and «Dzhankoy.»
