Russians have extended the deadline for the compulsory issuance of passports in the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Zaporizhzhia

In the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region, the occupiers have decided to prolong the process of forced passportization. Initially slated for completion by January 2024, the new deadline is now being discussed for July, as revealed by the Mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.

«The occupiers have initiated discussions about extending the deadline for «all round» passportization. Information is being disseminated through their public media, indicating that residents of the Temporarily Occupied Territories (TOT) should declare their citizenship by July 1, 2024», – Fedorov reported

He further mentioned that the occupiers are using intimidation tactics, warning those without a Russian passport that they may face higher taxes, restricted rights, and frequent inspections.
