Despite the attack, public transport in Mykolaiv is operating as usual. However, at least one person was killed, and several others were injured, with reports of destruction on the outskirts of the city.
This information was provided by Yulia Vynnyk, a correspondent for Hromadske Radio in Mykolaiv. An air alert was declared twice in Mykolaiv region during the night and morning. The enemy targeted the regional center with kamikaze drones and missiles, and the specific type is currently under investigation.
Mykolaiv hasn’t experienced such intensity since the beginning of the new year. Multiple explosions were heard in different parts of the city, with the most significant one occurring around six in the morning.
Residential buildings in the private sector suffered damage, including some partial damage to multi-story buildings. Gas and water supply networks were also affected, leading to a disconnection of part of one district on the outskirts of Mykolaiv. A fire was reported in a private house and on the territory of an infrastructure facility, according to the correspondent.
There has been one reported fatality, an elderly man previously hospitalized with a mine-blast and craniocerebral injury. Volunteers provided first aid to five people on the spot.
Despite the hostile attack, public transport in Mykolaiv is running normally, with trolleybuses and trams operating in the morning, as mentioned by Yulia Vynnyk.
