According to Oleg Chabala, a Ph.D. in Philosophy and an expert in international affairs, both Republicans and Democrats are expected to reach a consensus and vote on the bill to assist Ukraine in the near future.
He expressed this viewpoint on Hromadske Radio:
«Work is currently underway, and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine. I believe that Democrats and Republicans will find common ground, and a vote on this matter will take place as soon as possible».
Chabala highlights that the primary focus of US assistance is on weaponry, a crucial requirement at the moment, which is not readily available from our European partners. This includes artillery and equipment crucial for the frontline, addressing the existing shortage of artillery shells.
«In essence, the aid package comprises a substantial list, encompassing artillery systems, air defense systems, equipment such as armored vehicles, and a wide array of crucial support», — explains the international expert.
For reference, the US Senate will reassess the bill regarding aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The reconsideration will occur without incorporating migration reform and border security issues, with the vote scheduled for today, February 8.
