Soldiers near Bakhmut say they will remain on their positions until victory — correspondent

Our soldiers near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region express their commitment not to simply leave everything and wait for demobilization, according to journalist Yevhenia Honcharuk, who recently visited the positions of Ukrainian soldiers in the Donetsk region, as reported on Hromadske Radio.

«The soldiers maintain a sense of humor, which seems to be crucial in keeping different units in good spirits. Despite attempts to characterize their actions as heroic deeds, the soldiers humbly state that they are merely doing their job and have no other choice. Fatigue is becoming evident, especially considering that many soldiers we spoke to have been in the army since the beginning of the large-scale invasion. Notably, we encountered numerous soldiers with prior experience in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) or Joint Forces Operation (JFO). They all express their unwillingness to give up and simply await demobilization, emphasizing their determination to achieve victory. Optimistic plans are prevalent among them: some envision going to Crimea after victory, while others aspire to participate in the Victory Parade. It is truly impressive to witness such optimism and faith, even after months of continuous fighting», — conveyed Yevheniya Honcharuk.
