Russian troops continue to exert fire control over the Dnipro-Bug Estuary, preventing Ukraine from resuming shipping in the Mykolaiv direction.
This was reported by Natalia Gumenyuk, the head of the press centre of the Southern Defence Forces of Ukraine.
Speaking during a telethon, Gumenyuk highlighted the ongoing tense situation on the ground, with the enemy persistently shelling and terrorizing the civilian population. She noted that the right-bank Kherson region is also under fire.
The spokesperson emphasized that Russian forces, from time to time, fire artillery shells across the waters of the Dnipro-Bug Estuary to hinder Ukraine’s shipping in the Mykolaiv direction.
«The Russian Federation continues to harass our positions on the left bank of the Kherson region, particularly in areas where our units’ bridgehead and entrenchments disturb the enemy».
Despite two enemy attacks in the past day, the spokesperson pointed out that the enemy now employs «meat assaults» due to losses in armored vehicles and the effectiveness of Ukrainian counter-battery fire.
Humeniuk highlighted the positive results and accuracy of Ukrainian counter-battery fire. As of the morning of February 13, Russian troop losses in Ukraine totaled approximately 397,080. In the past day alone, Ukrainian defenders neutralized at least 1,090 Russian occupiers.
