U.S. senators have concluded their debate on the Ukraine aid bill

The U.S. Senate has approved a motion to conclude the debate on a bill allocating over $95 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

This was announced by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Washington, Oksana Markarova.

«The next step involved the adoption of the Motion to End Debate on the updated text of HR 815 (National Security Act of 2024). The motion garnered support from 66 senators, surpassing the required 60, while 33 senators voted against it», — she noted.

On February 8, the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress made a procedural decision to further deliberate on the bill for additional assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

On Sunday, February 11, the Senate successfully voted to overcome the final procedural hurdle, bringing the impending vote on the aid bill for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan closer to reality.

Previously, former President Donald Trump, the leader in the U.S. Republican race, urged Congress to refrain from providing aid to other countries. He argued that America should not offer support without demanding future reimbursement of these funds.
