The United Kingdom and Latvia are set to lead a «drone coalition», allocating drones worth $250 million to Ukraine.
This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defence.
British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps expressed pride in the initiative, stating:
«I am pleased to announce that the UK and Latvia will lead an international coalition to develop crucial drones for Ukraine. Working together, we aim to equip Ukraine with the necessary capabilities to defend itself and triumph in this war, ensuring the defeat of Putin’s illegal and barbaric ambitions».
The UK will place orders for thousands of FPV drones for Ukraine, including those from British manufacturers. This move not only serves to bolster the industry but also aligns with the Prime Minister’s priority to stimulate economic growth.
