On the night of March 5, Russian aggressors launched an attack on Ukraine employing 22 Shahed-type attack drones. The Air Defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully intercepted and destroyed 18 of these drones over the Odesa region.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
The statement indicated that the enemy launcheed the drones from the Balaklava-Crimea launch areas during the attack. In response, anti-aircraft missile units from the Air Force and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces actively participated in repelling the air assault.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that all 18 Shahed drones were neutralized within the Odesa region.
According to the Southern Defence Forces, unavoidable hits occurred during the attack, resulting in damage to a recreational facility in the Odesa district. Although a fire erupted, it was promptly extinguished. It’s important to note that the recreational facility had been non-operational since the commencement of the full-scale war.
Additionally, a private house with a pier and outbuildings in the recreational area sustained damage. Preliminary reports suggest no casualties from these incidents.
