The shopping center in Nikopol, targeted by the occupiers, no longer exists — correspondent

The shopping center in Nikopol, which was targeted by Russian occupiers in the shelling the day before, no longer exists; it is completely destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the massive fire.

Hromadske Radio’s correspondent in Nikopol, Anna Tseluyko, confirmed the absence of deaths or injuries resulting from the extensive fire caused by the Russian strike on Nikopol.

«We have one wounded elderly woman, but she was injured as a result of a hit in the private sector. Regarding the fire, it was a very alarming sight. I believe this is the largest fire in Nikopol during this war. Fortunately, the alarm sounded in time, and the store director managed to instruct people to take cover. When the hits occurred, people were in a safe place, so there were no injuries or casualties», — stated the correspondent.

However, she confirmed the loss of the shopping center, emphasizing that it was one of the largest in Nikopol, eagerly awaited by residents for a long time. Unfortunately, it no longer exists due to three artillery shell hits.

«It took a long time to build, and yesterday we were «liberated» from it. The shop caught fire almost immediately. An hour and a half later, the roof and walls collapsed. Firefighters worked at the scene for more than five hours, demonstrating professional expertise, resulting in only material consequences», — added Anna Tseluyko.
