Ukrainian Navy analyses remnants of the Russian Black Sea Fleet
The Russian Black Sea Fleet still operates with more than 30 vessels, including 10 missile launchers, although the occupiers are grappling with increasing logistical challenges.
Captain Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, revealed this information.
Pletenchuk emphasized the ongoing operational status of the Black Sea Fleet, stating:
«The Black Sea Fleet has more than 30 vessels underway, including approximately 10 missile carriers and three submarines. Despite this, they are encountering significant issues in terms of military logistics. There has been minimal use of Kalibr missiles for several months, with only one confirmed case after the sinking of the Caesar Kunikov».
Highlighting the preparedness of the Ukrainian Navy, Pletenchuk mentioned: «The Ukrainian Navy definitely has work to do«.
Regarding large amphibious ships, the spokesperson noted that out of the 13 units in service at the onset of the full-scale invasion, five are still operational and stationed at their home bases.
Pletenchuk also reported that enemy aircraft over the Black Sea remain active, primarily engaging in reconnaissance activities.
In a recent development, on the night of March 5th, a special unit from the Main Directorate of Intelligence Group 13 executed an attack on the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Sergei Kotov. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Navy of the Armed Forces and supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, utilized Magura V5 maritime drones. The strike resulted in damage to the Russian ship of Project 22160, specifically to the stern, starboard, and port sides. The estimated cost of the sunken occupier’s ship is approximately $65 million.
